Healthy eating and advices


For this unit, we are going to do an activity online! What do you have to do?


1- Write what you eat during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday; or Friday and Saturday, only two days). 

Write EVERYTHING you eat and the time when you eat it. For example:

Saturday
10am Milk and cookies
14h Lentils
18h Doughnuts
21h Omelette and sausages


2- Post your diet online so that everyone in the class can see it. 

How do we do this? Click here and click on the + botton on the right. You can post a picture of your diet (as in the example) or you can add a Word document if you want.

3- Don't forget to write your name!!


4- Choose a partner and give him/her advices. 

For example: "You should eat more vegetables". To do this, just click on the + botton on the right and start writing!


The deadline for posting your diet is Monday 24th
The deadline for writing your comments is Thursday 27th.

British myths and legends webquest


You will be reading the most famous legends and myths of Great Britain.
You will find different definitions of "legend" and "myth". You have to understand what they mean.
You will have to choose one legend or myth, which will be your favourite.
You and your group will present the legend in class.
Your groups can be from 3 to 5 students.

Step 1.

You will look up the definition "legend" and ''myth'' online using the following websites:

Write down the similarities and differences between these two words.

Choose one of these websites of different legends and myths and read information about it. You can also use some extra materials, different books, magazines and so on.

NATIONAL PARKS WEBQUEST

Introduction:
You and your family are going on holidays to a National Park. You have to choose one. On this webquest you will look at five National Parks and answer some questions. After that, you will have to write a letter to your family convincing them to go to the National Park you want. 


Situation One: go to Denali National Park
Read the first two paragraphs and answer these questions:

A. Where is it?

B. Name three animals that live in Denali National Park. 
C. Name three activities you can do at Denali National Park.
 

Situation Two: Go to  The Everglades

D. Where is it?

Read the sections on biking, boating and canoing:

E. What is the best way to explore the Everglades, biking, boating or canoeing?

F: What other interesting activities can you do?

Situation Three:  The Grand Canyon

G. Where is it?
H. What are the two most popular activities you can do here?
I. How many people died here?
J. Can you camp here?


Situation Four: Learn about Yellowstone National Parks
K. Click here: Where is Yellowstone?
L. Go to the section on wildlife.  Which species are the most popular? When can you see baby animals?
M. Go to activities, read the sections on summer activities and winter activities and decide which ones you like the most. 

Situation Five: Go to Yosemite National Park and read section number 10


N. Are the giant sequoias the tallest trees on earth?

O. Which Sequoias can you visit?

Homework:
A. Choose one of these five national parks.
B. Write a persuasive letter about your chosen national park.  Be sure to include:
  -which state/states the park is in
  -list at least 3 facts about the park
  -why your family should go there
-the letter should be at least half a page in length
